At Florida Atlantic, research grounds our purpose and drives our mission forward. To highlight our progress, the Division of Research publishes an annual magazine to showcase the remarkable work taking place across all areas of the University. The 2024 Momentum Report, which features Florida Atlantic’s research achievements throughout fiscal year 2023-24, is now available.
As the report shows, Florida Atlantic proudly secured $75.9 million worth of research awards during FY 23-24. The University’s total research expenditures also rose to an estimated $109 million — up from $95 million in FY 22-23 and $67 million in FY 19-20 — demonstrating a strong and consistent upward trajectory in research activity. Additionally, 608 research proposals were submitted and 408 research awards were received, underscoring the significant productivity and impact of our faculty research efforts. Key research initiatives from each college also can be found throughout the publication.
The 2024 Momentum Report reflects Florida Atlantic’s ongoing dedication to advancing academic excellence, addressing global challenges and making a lasting impact through innovation. I am grateful to Gregg Fields, Ph.D., vice president for research, for his leadership and commitment to developing a vibrant research environment that drives the University’s success. I also am thankful to Florida Atlantic’s faculty members and researchers, whose groundbreaking work benefits us all. As an emerging “R1: Very High Research Spending and Doctorate Production” university we are excited to continue building on this momentum, driving even greater discoveries for the local and global community.
