University Notice Statement
Florida Atlantic University “FAU” is committed to creating a safe learning and working environment where all members of the University community adhere to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 as amended “Title IX.” Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and includes protections from sexual harassment and sexual violence under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. It is imperative that all FAU employees and affiliates understand their obligation under Title IX and FAU Regulation 7.008 (Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment).
Accordingly, the Compliance Office in conjunction with the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX “OCR9” will send out a mandatory online training course annually so that employees (staff, faculty, administrators, student-employees, etc.) better understand how to prevent and report sex discrimination, harassment, assault, and retaliation. The course will also help employees recognize and respond to reports of sexual misconduct in accordance with applicable laws and university policies or regulations. The course continues FAU’s commitment to promoting compliance and awareness about Title IX.
